Description

This is a 17th-century house, likely built in the early to mid-17th century, situated on the north side of High Street in Marshfield. It has been converted into offices and flats. The house is constructed of rubble and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The central bay is a two-storey canted bay window, with 3- and 4-light casement windows on the first floor and sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor. Most of the ground floor windows are fitted with drip moulds or cornices. A 6-panel door is located on the left side of the building, leading to a through passage, and a 20th-century door is situated on the left flank of the bay window. Affixed to the right side of the bay window is a reproduction milestone plaque reading "103/MILES FROM/HYDE PARK CORNER". The building represents a vernacular town house.
