Garden walls and steps, C18, defining layout of formal gardens. Limestone rubble and freestone, and ashlar. Ashlar wall with coping along terrace has central steps in freestone with wreathed end to walls and coping; walls ramped down to north and south, with segmental-headed openings with keystone and cornice, square- headed to outer sides, walls in rubble below terrace level, all with coping, and ashlar pilasters at intervals, about 3 metres high. To east, 2 semi-circular ashlar recesses with cornice, each with rectangular unglazed window opening, and adjacent steps to lower terrace each with pair of square piers with raised panels and flat top with moulded edge at top and bottom; piers and steps to north skewed, moulded top of string to steps.
