Description

This is a mid-17th century house, partially re-fitted in the early 18th century and with sash windows added in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of rubble and has Welsh slate roofs. The house is arranged in an L-shape, with a through passage. It is three storeys high, with two gables on the front, and has three windows. These windows are 2-pane sashes, each set under a stepped brick arch. A central 4-panel door is situated under a plain transom light. At the rear, a gabled stair tower is located in the re-entrant angle, and partially above the through passage door. The doorframe features an ovolo moulding with ornate stops. The interior retains chamfered beams throughout. On the ground floor, there is a heavy 6-panel door within an ovolo-moulded frame. A full-height dog-leg staircase, with heavy turned balusters and a decorated closed string, is also present. On the first floor is a bolection-moulded fireplace, above which is a panelled overmantel with a full cornice.
