Description
This is a disused house with an industrial upper floor, likely originally a factory, built between 1818 and 1823. It is constructed of random rubble, with parts rendered, and has a pantile roof with stone slates at the eaves. The roof also features double Roman tiles and engineering brick on the porch. The building is three stories high with four windows. The windows are currently boarded up, with a canted bay added to the far right of the ground floor. A gabled porch is situated off-centre to the left, and next to it is a stone frame oculus. There are several blocked small window openings across the elevation. The rear of the building has eight small single-light windows on the upper floor, along with a chimney set off the ridge and dormers. It is believed that the building was once entirely a factory, later becoming the manager’s house for the hat factory located nearby.
