Description
Mill Farmhouse is a late 17th-century building with an 'L'-shaped plan, standing two and a half storeys high. The exterior is rendered and topped with a pantile roof, featuring end chimneys and two gables on the front elevation. The windows have been altered; there is one window and three on the ground floor, two of which are mullioned, one has a transom, and the right-hand window is a sash. The central door retains remnants of an ogee stop surround.
On the west return, there is one gable and a range of oak mullion windows. The rear of the building has three gables, one of which includes a projecting turret at the angle, along with a cross-gabled wing and another gable to the right, featuring occasional drip moulds and oak mullions. A lean-to across the centre may conceal an entrance below the stairs.
Inside, there is a stair in the turret at the rear, which is of semi-newel type and retains splat-balusters on the first flight, as well as incised mouldings on some of the risers on the attic flight. The construction features rough through purlins, with collars supported on masonry, and moulded beam stops in the rear wing.
