Description
The Griffin Public House is an early 18th-century building that has undergone restorations and alterations. It is rendered with freestone dressings and features a modern pantile roof, end gables, and three small attic gables on the front, all with plain verges. The building stands two and a half storeys tall and has three windows, which are later 2 and 3-light wooden casements without dripmoulds. The central window on the first floor is blocked, as is the original door opening that has a stone bolection architrave. Each end gable has a pair of rendered stacks set diagonally. To the left, there is a two-storey wing with two windows that is lower in height and has a plain door. On the right, there is a gabled extension. At the rear, there is a projecting gabled stair turret, and one of the two rear attic gables retains a dripmould. Inside, there is a winder stair and paired doors on the first-floor landing, which have decorated stop-chamfered surrounds.
