Description

The Whitehart Inn is a building likely dating from the 1720s, designed in an 'L' plan. It has been altered and restored over time. The exterior is rendered with a modern pantile roof and features end gables. The front has two gables, each with a 2-light stone mullion window of the set back ogee type. There are two later bays on the ground floor with hipped roofs and sash windows. A later central projecting porch also has a hipped roof. The left-hand return elevation shows one original 2-light stone mullioned casement with a transom and drip mould above, and another where the mullion and transom have been removed. The building has brick stacks and later bargeboards on all gables. Inside, the left-hand ground floor room features a decorated stop-chamfered cross beam, and the cellar door has an oak ovolo surround.
