Description

The monument to Rhind is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 5 meters north of the vestry of the Church of St. Michael in Stoke Gifford. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of freestone. The tomb features a moulded slab supported by corner balusters, with plain lozenges at the ends. Inscriptions are displayed on the side panels within lozenges that include paterae, and it has a moulded plinth. The tomb commemorates Robert Rhind, who died in 1794.
