Description
The Vicarage, built around 1865, is located on North Road in Stoke Gifford. It features rubble brought to courses, quoins, and freestone dressings, topped with a slate roof. The main block is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are glazing bar sashes set under gables. The lower central gable is set back and has a shallow porch with a flat hood. The left gable has two windows below and one above, all under relieving arches, while the right gable features a canted pitched bay below. The north wing is one and a half storeys tall, with two windows: a glazing bar sash below and pairs of four-light sashes between mullions above that rise as eaves dormers. There is also a 20th-century garage door inserted on the left side. This building is part of a significant development by the Beaufort estate, designed in a picturesque style, and is listed mainly for its group value with the church and other Beaufort buildings.
