Description
The Boathouse, Armoury, and St Keverne's Cottages are a pair of cottages, a boathouse, and a lodge, currently in ruins. They date from around the mid-19th century but incorporate architectural features from the 16th and 17th centuries. The structures are built from stone rubble with granite dressings and are located on St Keverne's Quay at Radford Lake, forming a picturesque ruin.
Armoury Cottage is at the left (south) end and is a single-storey building. It features a moulded granite four-centred arch doorway on its south gable end, two window openings on its east front, and a large moulded granite fireplace inside, which has a carved fleur-de-lys and the date 1640 above it. St Keverne's Cottage is situated in the centre and has projections to the left and right. The right projection includes a heavily moulded granite round-arched doorway, while the centre has a four-light mullion window. The lodge and integral boathouse are on the right (north) side; the south wall of the lodge has a large segmental arch supported by granite monolithic columns with separate capitals. The boathouse features a large pointed arch entrance from the lake. Additionally, there is a large granite apple-press set into the grounds south of the boathouse and lodge.
