Description
Brakeview is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, located on Hexton Hill Road in Plymstock, Lower Hooe. The building features a rendered exterior, likely over rubble, and has a steep dry slate roof with a rendered end stack on the left side. It has a two-room plan with a central entrance passage or hallway. The house is two storeys high and has an approximately symmetrical front with two windows, plus a small mid-floor window to the right of the central doorway. The doorway has a plinth and plain architrave, and it contains a six-panel door with a flush panel and later glazing in the top two panels. The windows have been replaced with late 20th-century 12-pane two-light casements, which replaced older windows, including a horizontal-sliding sash. The interior has not been inspected but may still have its original floor and roof structures.
