Description
The fountain located in the grounds to the south of St Brandon's School is an ornate stone structure dating from the second half of the 19th century. It features a tall circular stem that supports a bowl with a central pedestal topped by a carved female figure in a Grecian style, stepping forward. The pedestal is adorned with carved dolphins, while the underside of the bowl showcases angels and lion masks. The stem of the fountain is decorated with angels and centaur heads, along with swags, and the base includes scrollwork. The basins at the foot of the fountain have sides shaped in ogee curves. This fountain is part of a group that includes St Brandon's School for Girls, an outbuilding to the north, a lodge at the north entrance, and a boundary wall at Elton Road.
