5/56 Nash House 9.2.61 II

Detached house. Early C17 with later alterations and additions. Colourwashed render, dressed stone copings, oak mullions and pantile roof. 2 storey, 3-window entrance front with slightly recessed central section. This central bay now encloses a former entrance court between the 2 projecting wings. Windows are of 5 lights to the ground floor and 4 lights to the upper floor except the central window which is of 3 lights. All have hoodmoulds and C20 aluminium casements. The central section has a reset doorcase with moulded architrave and a studded plank door. C20 pedimented hood. Either side of the doorway are single light windows deeply set within the wall face with moulded surrounds and small leaded panes under segmental heads, 2 storey lower addition to right hand with reset C17 architrave and fine late C18 door with ogee-headed battens on planks. Double span roof with lower roadside section, end rendered stacks. Interior. Several ogee moulded and chamfered beams with stops and door architraves with ovolo- mouldings and scroll stops.
