Description
Dring Cottage is a detached house, likely dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century. The exterior features colourwashed and incised render, topped with a 20th-century slate roof. It is two stories high and has a four-window north front. The windows are a mix of sashed styles, primarily 9-pane sashes, along with a glazed bay window on the left side of the ground floor and a right-hand upper sash with spoked glazing. The doorway is offset to the right and features Greek key fret detailing on the jambs, along with a segmental-headed hood supported by carved brackets. The entrance includes a six-panel door with two rectangular glazed lights. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over an extension and a single brick stack. Inside, the two main ground floor rooms are adorned with acanthus frieze cornices.
