Description

The entrance gates and turnstiles at Birnbeck Pier date from the 1860s and are located at the landward end of the main pier. They feature two cast-iron gatepiers with moulded capitals and floral lamp bases. There are two pairs of cast-iron turnstiles flanking the gates, with one set attached to the original Toll House Lodge on the left and the other to an altered house on the right. A section of floral railing is attached to the right pier.
