Description

The village cross in Kingston Seymour is a late medieval structure with elements from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is made of freestone and stands on four square steps from the 20th century. The base of the cross is square and features a chamfered design that transitions to an octagonal shape above. Atop this base is a restored, tapering octagonal shaft. The cross is adorned with a cornice that has floral decorations, and it culminates in a crocketed lantern with four ogee-headed cusped panels, each containing allegorical figures.
