Description
The main barn at Burngate Farm, which is attached to the house, has origins dating back to the 16th century and was remodeled in the 19th century. The barn features walls made of stone, flint, and brick, with a slated main roof. It is a single-storey structure. The west elevation, facing the road, includes timber doors and metal windows, while the east elevation has two large cart porches topped with hipped tile roofs. Internally, there are visible traces of a steeper original roof pitch, which is part of a jointed cruck. The current roof is of king-post construction. To the north of the main barn, there is a later addition with brick walls and a slate roof, likely used as a stable.
