Description

This cattle shelter shed, dating from the 18th century, is located 20 metres north-east of Manor Farmhouse in Chideock. The rear wall is constructed of rubble stone facing the lane, and it features a slate roof with stone gable coping. The structure is supported by octagonal stone columns that have plain Doric capitals, large abaci, and spur bases. There are six open-fronted bays facing the yard. The roof has a low pitch and is supported by a tie-beam design with two sets of butted through-purlins.
