Description
Wynford is a detached house located on Whitcombe Road, dating from the late 18th century. It features a brick facade in Flemish bond and stone gable walls, topped with a concrete tile roof and stone gable copings. The house has two storeys and attics, with a total of three sash windows that include glazing bars. The ground floor windows have good gauged brick voussoirs, while the first floor windows are simpler. There are three dormers with small sashes, which are tile-hung and have flat roofs, added in the 20th century. The front door is centrally located, made of wood with thin muntins and a semi-circular fanlight above, also from the 20th century. A 20th-century canopy supported by diagonal struts is above the door. The front garden wall, which faces the lane, is made of coursed lias stone from the 18th century, featuring a flat stone coping that ramps at both ends. The capstone of the gate piers is from the 20th century.
