Description

No. 6 East Street is an attached house that was formerly the Bell and Crown Public House. It dates from the early 19th century and features walls made of lias stone. The roof is slate with stone gable copings and has renewed brick stacks at the left-hand gable, center, and right-hand gable. The building is two storeys high and has five windows, which are three-and two-light wooden casements with glazing bars. The windows have segmental heads with voussoirs. There are two canted bay windows with stone bases, sashes, and glazing bars, with one pane's width at the sides. The front door is located left of center and is a wooden, four-panelled door with two top lights. Above it is a wooden canopy supported by iron brackets, dating from the 19th century. To the immediate right of the second canted bay window is a narrow panelled door, and further right is a wooden side door with a lintel above.
