Description
Nos 63 and 65 on East Street are two-storey buildings with an attic, dating from between 1731 and 1750. They feature a four-window front and two nipped dormers. The brickwork is typical of the period, and there is a dentil eaves cornice. The first floor has sash windows, and there is a continuous moulded hood above the shop fronts, which include oriel bay windows that have been partly altered but are originally from the 19th century. A passageway runs between the two buildings. Nos 61 to 73 (odd) form a group with the National Westminster Bank, Lloyds Bank, Nos 6 and 10 to 26 (even), and the Red Lion Public House and its outbuildings.
