Description
Holy Trinity Infants School, built in 1857, is constructed of Portland or Ridgeway hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features pitched tile roofs with coped gables. The school consists of a two-storey block at the south end, which has two three-light windows with cusped heads and hoodmoulds that join to form a stringcourse, along with two similar two-light windows with coped gables above them. At the north end, there is a single-storey hall of the same height, featuring four two-light windows and one three-light window with unusual unmoulded cusped tracery heads, as well as two gablets in the roof.
There is a one-storey porch and an adjacent room at the angle of the two blocks, which includes a door with a pointed chamfered arch and a recessed date panel above it, along with one two-light window with cusped heads and a coped gable above. A massive buttress with a batter and gablet supports a tall and narrow staged bell-cote with a gabled top. The gateway to the south features modern iron gates set in chamfered jambs. To the north, there is a wall made of Portland or Ridgeway hammer-dressed stone with moulded coping. All the listed buildings in Grey School Passage form a group.
