Description
No 34 on Colliton Street is a former Presbyterian Meeting House, later used as a Unitarian Chapel, and is now a garage. The building dates from 1719 and is constructed of chequer brick, featuring a single storey. It has a moulded wooden eaves cornice and three tall segment-headed sash windows with glazing bars, although the central window is partially blocked and has been altered with a modern garage door. There is a band at the impost level that continues over the voussoirs of the central window. The building retains one original rainwater head and part of two original lead downpipes. The north front mirrors this design, while the east and west fronts each have five blocked windows. Inside, there is a coved cornice and a central lantern light. Nos 34 to 36 and Nos 42 to 44, along with The Forge and The Forge Cottage, form a group.
