Description
Horsington School and School House is a building constructed between 1855 and 1856. It is made of local stone that has been cut and squared, with the house now rendered and featuring ashlar dressings. The roof is covered with plain clay tiles and has coped gables, along with brick chimney stacks. The building has an 'L' shape, with later matching additions on the north side.
The west elevation showcases three gables, each adorned with triple cusped lancet windows, and there is a plain door located in the return wing. A stone bell turret is positioned on the central gable. The attached school house to the south is two storeys high and consists of two bays, featuring three-light stone mullioned windows on the ground floor and two-light mullioned and transomed windows on the upper floor. Together, the school and school house create a picturesque group.
