Description

The Old Bridge is a bridge dating from the 18th century or earlier, constructed of local stone rubble with cast iron handrails. It features two semi-circular arches and has a weir on the upstream side. The west side has a very thin crown and simple abutments. The handrail consists of thin circular posts and double rods. This bridge is an important visual element in the heart of the village and once carried the main road through the village until it was replaced around 1877.
