Description
Camesworth Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse built in the early 19th century. It features coursed rubble-stone walls and a thatched roof with stone gable-coping on both the left and right front gables. There is a brick stack on the left-hand gable and another on the right-hand front gable. The building is designed in an L-shape.
On the ground floor, there are three-light stone mullion windows with ovolos and separate labels above, fitted with fixed glass lights. The first-floor windows have wooden frames and iron casements. The front door, located in the angle of the building, is a plank and studded design with long strap hinges, dating from the 20th century.
The rear elevation is particularly noteworthy, featuring four three-light wooden mullion windows with ovolos, which are framed and pegged, and date back to the 17th century. These also have mainly fixed glass lights and wooden lintels above, with two wooden cills on the upper floor.
Inside, the cross-wing has a collar-beam roof construction with a decorative joint that is trenched into the side of the principal beam. The ceiling features a big-chamfered beam with filleted stops.
