Description
Hincknowle Farm is a detached house with a core dating from the 16th century, which was refronted in the early 18th century. The building features dressed stone walls and a thatch roof with block ridging and stone gable copings. There is a brick stack at the right-hand gable. The south front is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade that includes five windows, square window surrounds made of ashlar, and stone cills. The ground floor has sash windows with thin glazing bars, while the first floor features 2-light wooden casements with glazing bars, dating from the 20th century. The front doorway has an eared stone architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a stone pediment supported by two volute brackets, all from the early 18th century. The door is from the 20th century and has flush panels with nine glass lights above. At the rear, there is a blocked stone doorway that has been converted to a window, featuring an ovolo with a depressed-arch head from the 17th century. Inside, the front rooms have dentil cornices, panelled shutters to sashes, fielded panelling with a dado rail, and flagstone floors.
