Description
Melplash Court Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with significant changes made in the 19th century. The building features rubble stone walls and an asbestos slate roof with stone gable copings. There is a brick stack on the right-hand gable. The farmhouse has two storeys and three windows on the north elevation, which are 2- and 3-light wooden casements with glazing bars and wooden cills, dating from the 20th century. The south elevation includes 19th-century cast-iron casements with full glazing bars. A front porch, added in the 20th century, is located in the angle and has a plank-and-muntin studded door. Above the door, there are stone-arch voussoirs. Inside, the west room features a deep-chamfered ceiling beam, and the open fireplace has straight-chamfered stone jambs and a chamfered wooden lintel above.
