Description
Melplash Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse that dates from the 18th century, although it has an earlier core and has undergone significant changes, particularly in its window arrangements. There is a 19th-century wing that extends at right angles to the main structure. The building features dressed stone walls and a thatched roof with block ridging. It has brick stacks at the west gable and on the west ridge, along with an 18th-century stone stack on the south gable end. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three windows, which are 19th-century, three-light wood-framed casements with iron and lead lights. The windows have wooden cills, and there is one two-light stone mullion window with hollow chamfers and a separate label above it. The west wing contains two windows that do not have leading. The front door is located in the angle of the building and is a 20th-century plank and muntin door with glass lights. There is also a plank door in the south wall of the west range, which dates from the 19th century.
