Description

No 3, including the premises occupied by Gilham Bros, is a building located on Church Lane, dating from around 1625, with a stone ashlar front that is likely from the early 19th century. It is three stories tall and has two windows on the front, topped with a stone slate roof. The sash windows are set in flush frames. The ground floor has been altered and features two small shop windows, along with a four-panelled door that has an architrave frame and a rectangular fanlight above it. Internally, the ground floor includes a three-centred stone archway. This building is part of a group that includes Bow House, The Cemetery Gate, The Abbey Gate House, No 2 (also occupied by Gilham Bros), No 3 (occupied by Gilham Bros), No 88, The Conduit, No 90, and Saints John Building (The Parade) on Cheap Street.
