Description
No 2, including the premises occupied by Gilham Bros, is a 16th-century house that has been re-fronted. The front is finished in stucco and features two windows across two storeys and an attic. It has a plain tile roof with altered gable dormers. The ground floor has a modern plate-glass shop front. Inside, the south room includes an external wall with an original stone corner window that has eight round-headed lights, and the same room features contemporary moulded cross-beams on the ceiling. This building forms a group with No 88, The Conduit, No 90, and Saints John Building (The Parade) on Cheap Street, as well as Bow House, The Cemetery Gate, and The Abbey Gate House.
