Description
The Conduit, also known as The Parade, is an early 16th-century hexagonal stone structure originally serving as the Conduit House, located against the north range of the Abbey Cloister. It features a moulded string and parapet coping, with buttresses at the angles. The west front has an original two-centred entrance, while the other sides have two-centred window openings adorned with perpendicular tracery. The building is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. The Conduit, along with No 88, No 90, Saints John Building, Bow House, The Cemetery Gate, The Abbey Gate House, and other nearby premises, forms a cohesive group of significant structures.
