Description

Westcott is a detached cottage dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It is located on the west side of West Street in Corfe Castle. The cottage has walls of coursed rubble stone and a stone slate roof, with a stone stack at the left end. The main part of the cottage is one storey high with an attic, while a single-storey extension to the left has a half-hipped roof. The extension features a single casement window with diamond lead lights, set within a flat arch. The ground floor of the main part of the cottage has two casement windows with diamond lead lights, also under flat arches. The attic has two gabled dormers, each with similar casement windows. A 20th-century rear wing has been added, with a section being two-storeyed and covered with artificial stone slate, and another section being single-storeyed with a flat roof.
