Description

Ellerslie Cottage is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of chalk-block walls, which have been roughcast and painted white. The roof is slate, with gable ends and parallel ridges. Brick stacks are located at the gable ends, both front and back. The house has two storeys and four windows in total. The majority of the windows are tripartite sashes. A canted bay window fronts the porch, with one pane, four panes, and one pane respectively, supported by wooden columns. A three-light iron casement window is located at the right-hand end of the building, with wooden sills. The front door, at the centre of the house under the canted bay, is flush-panelled and rib-panelled, with a central door knob, and is characteristic of the early 19th century.
