Description
The Langmoor Wall and Railings at No 1 forms an early to mid-19th century boundary feature to Silver Street. The wall is constructed of blue lias rubble with an ashlar capping. It is characterised by two horizontal rails supported by low vertical uprights, which rise alternately to two different heights. The uprights are finished with trefoil finials, while the standards are topped with urn finials. The wall and railings are located at the left-hand end of No 1, where the building is slightly recessed. The wall’s presence defines a boundary to Silver Street and establishes a visual connection with the Langmoor building itself, and it contributes to views along Broad Street.
