Description
Lyme Regis Baptist Church, founded in 1653 and rebuilt in 1850, features a slate hipped roof and a wood eaves cornice. The front, which faces Silver Street, is roughcast with a stuccoed base and has a cemented stringcourse. It includes four tall round-headed windows with a radiating glazing pattern, and a band across the front is painted with the words "Baptist Church 1653." The elevation facing Broad Street has two round-headed windows above a modern brick vestibule with a slate roof that contrasts with the church's style. To the right, there is a lean-to addition that has one fixed two-pane wide window above, a round-headed window, and two fixed two-pane wide windows below. The Baptist Church and The Langmoor, along with Nos 34 to 36 Broad Street, form a group with Nos 1 and 2 Pound Street.
