Description
The bandstand and twelve surrounding park benches, located in the Borough Gardens on West Walks Road, were built in 1905. The bandstand features a rubble plinth and is supported by eight cast iron columns that hold up an octagonal lead pagoda roof. The roof is topped with an elaborate weathervane and has eaves adorned with cast-iron trellis work acroteria at the center of each side, along with anthemia at the corners. The columns have delicate Composite capitals that support ornate trellis work brackets. Additionally, there is an elaborate cast iron balustrade. The twelve park benches have very elaborate cast iron ends.
