Description
Badger's Thatch is a detached house dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It features plastered cob walls and a thatched roof, with brick stacks. The building is one storey high with attics and includes a single-storey extension at the north end that has a catslide roof. There is also a large modern rear extension that is two storeys tall, with plastered walls and a thatched roof. The front has a ledged door and three horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor. The attic contains two half dormers with similar windows. Inside, the main ground floor room has a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and worked stone jambs, which may have come from Bindon Abbey. There are also some remains of a bread oven and a stop-chamfered ceiling beam.
