Description
The Swan Public House is an 18th-century inn located on the east side of High Street in Stalbridge. The building is constructed of coursed rubble and features a slate roof with end stacks, one made of stone and the other of brick. It has two storeys and a symmetrical facade with five bays. All the windows are sash style, fitted with glazing bars and set in moulded surrounds with wooden lintels. The central entrance consists of double doors with a wooden surround, topped by a flat hood supported on brackets. Above the entrance, there is a first-floor door, likely for accessing storage space, and an external wrought iron inn sign bracket. Inside, the building features stopped shallow chamfered beams.
