Description

19 and 20 Lower Street are a pair of cottages, likely rebuilt in the mid-19th century from an earlier structure. They are constructed of coursed rubble, coursed squared rubble, with flint bands and brick detailing. The cottages feature a tiled gable-ended roof with brick stacks on the right side and at the rear wing, along with overhanging eaves. The buildings are two storeys tall with irregular window arrangements. The windows are three-light casements that include horizontal glazing bars. The left window on the ground floor is set beneath a segmental brick arch, while the right side has openings under segmental stone arches with keystones. The front doors are partially glazed.
