Description

Sheephayes is a house located on Castle Lane in Okeford Fitzpaine, likely dating from the 17th century, with refacing done in the 18th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with flared headers on the right side and stretcher bond on the left, along with some timber framing in the right gable. The rear wing features a mix of rubble, brick, and flint bands, and there is a rubble extension on the left. The house has a thatched roof with hipped and half-hipped ends, and brick stacks are positioned at the left gable and to the right of the front door. It is two storeys tall with irregular window arrangements. The ground floor on the left has openings beneath segmental brick arches, and the windows are 2 and 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars.
