Description

Castle Farm Cottage is a house, likely dating back to the 17th century or earlier, with some alterations in the 18th century. The property combines brick construction – using a Flemish bond pattern with some flared headers on the left side – with close-studded timber framing on the right. It has a thatched roof, with a hipped end on the right and a gable end on the left. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the building and to the right of the main entrance. The house is two stories high and has an irregular arrangement of windows. The cottage section has a plain timber door, while the main house features a partially glazed door. The building is described in "RCHM, Dorset, vol III," on page 204, entry number 9.
