BEAMINSTER HOGSHILL STREET, ST 4701/4801 (NORTH SIDE) 7/82 No 56 GV II

Attached cottage at right angles to no 58. C17 with C19 gable-end to street. Dressed lias stone walls. Slate roof, with stone gable-coping, to street. One brick stack at ridge, towards rear of gable. 2 storeys with attics. One window on each face. 3- and 4-light hollow-chamgered mullions with returned labels over, that on west wall with iron casements. Gable-wall has C19 sashes with gauged heads. Front door in angle by no 58, wooden with 2 glass lights. Small wooden canopy over, C19. Source: R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p 25(32).
