Description
56 Hogshill Street is an attached cottage positioned at right angles to number 58. It dates from the 17th century, with a 19th-century gable end facing the street. The cottage features dressed lias stone walls and a slate roof, which has stone gable coping along the street side. There is one brick stack at the ridge, located towards the rear of the gable. The building is two storeys high with attics, and there is one window on each face. The windows are 3- and 4-light hollow-chamfered mullions with returned labels above, with the west wall window featuring iron casements. The gable wall has 19th-century sash windows with gauged heads. The front door, located in the angle next to number 58, is wooden and includes two glass lights, with a small wooden canopy above, also from the 19th century.
