Description
The Old Custom House is an 18th-century building located in West Bay. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone, primarily roughcast, and features a pitched slate roof with coped gable ends. The building stands two storeys high with attics and has irregularly placed sash windows that include glazing bars. There are hipped dormers at both the front and back. Modern extensions have been added to the east and west sides. Originally, the east gable end had a stone mullioned window. The Old Custom House is part of a group that includes No 11, The Fountain, Messrs Norman Goods Warehouse, No 13 (Clarence House), the Methodist Church, the Bridport Arms Hotel, Ship Cottage, Gull House, The Dinghy, and Pier Terrace.
