Description
The Bridport Arms Hotel is a building from the 17th and 18th centuries, consisting of two blocks connected by a modern hotel and garage extension. The west side features whitewashed and partly plastered walls, while the east side is made of hammer dressed stone. The building has thatched roofs and is two storeys high. The west side includes casement windows with glazing bars and one cased sash window with a glazing bar, although most other openings have been modernized.
Inside, there is one 17th-century fireplace with a cambered bressummer. The Bridport Arms Hotel is part of a group that includes No 11, The Fountain, Messrs Norman Goods Warehouse, No 13 (Clarence House), the Methodist Church, Ship Cottage, Gull House, The Dinghy, and Pier Terrace.
