Description

This building is part of a row of 18th-century properties on the north side of High West Street. It has a three-window front that follows the style of the adjacent buildings. Fluted string courses are carried across the front. A shopfront has been inserted at some point. A doorway to the right has engaged, fluted Greek Doric columns supporting an entablature, above a round-headed opening with a fanlight. The building is part of a group value context with numbers 48 to 65A, which includes the Shire Hall, Holy Trinity Church, the Museum, St. Peter's Church, and a monument to William Barnes in the churchyard immediately south of the west tower.
