Description
Nos 21 and 22 are a pair of attached houses located on High West Street, built in the 19th century. Each house features one window and consists of a basement, three storeys, and an attic. The fronts are made of red brick with slate roofs, and there are railings present. The doors at each end of the facade are adorned with stone Roman Doric columns and entablatures, and both doors have fanlights above them. Each floor has a three-light sash window with segmental rubbed brick arches. At the window cill level, there are moulded and fluted stone strings between the storeys. The houses also have two dormers. Notably, No 21 has altered glazing bars, while No 22 has an inserted bay that serves as a shop window. These houses are part of a group that includes Nos 13 to 15, The Old Ship Public House, Nos 18 and 19, The Royal Oak Public House, Nos 21 to 24, and the Church of Our Lady.
