Description
Brookside is a detached house dating from the early to mid-17th century. It features rubble stone walls, some of which are plastered and all are colourwashed. The house has a thatched roof, hipped at the left end, and brick stacks at the ends. It is one storey with an attic and includes a single-storey former dairy extension at the right end. There is a 20th-century stone gabled porch with a ledged door. On the ground floor, to the left of the porch, there is one casement window with lead lights, and to the right, there are two casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. The attic has three dormers with casement windows, some retaining lead lights. Inside, the left ground floor room features a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and jambs, while the right room has a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and stone jambs. There is an altered plank and muntin partition on the first floor.
