Description

The railings and gates to Greenhill Court along Greenhill date from around 1625 and are likely contemporary with Greenhill Court itself. The railings feature ornate uprights with spiked finials that alternate with uprights topped with arrow-headed finials. The gate has scroll panelled standards, with uprights that rise alternately to two different heights, also topped with spiked finials. These railings and gates, along with the listed buildings on the North Side of Greenhill from Newell Cottage to Belmont, and on the South Side from Delta to the premises occupied by Godden and Curtis, form a cohesive group.
