Description
Vineyard Farm House, with Stable is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, featuring an attached stable. The building has rubble stone walls and a hipped thatched roof, with a stone stack located at the junction with the stable. It is one storey with an attic. An added porch has stone walls and a corrugated iron roof, and there is a ledged door. The ground floor includes one casement window with a central horizontal bar, while the attic features a half dormer with 20th-century casements that have glazing bars. The stable has a rear wall made of cob and a stable door. There is a rear lean-to extension at a lower level with a stone slate roof, and a lean-to outbuilding at the end of the stable, although its roof is missing. Inside, the main ground floor room boasts a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and bread ovens. The roof structure appears to be original, with principal rafters that are chamfered. This property is managed by the National Trust.
